Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has received the ‘Excellence in Safety’ award from the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), acknowledging the company’s efforts to improve workplace safety. The award highlights Alba’s reduction of total injuries by almost 60% over five years, as well as its approach that encourages employee participation in safety programs and ongoing training for staff involved in lifting operations.

The award was presented by LEEA President Oliver Austin and CEO Ross Moloney. Essam Hassan and Ali Hassan Radhi, both Safety and Health Superintendents at Alba, accepted the recognition on behalf of the company.

Ali Al Baqali, Chief Executive Officer of Alba, commented on the achievement: “Winning this award from a globally respected body like LEEA is a reflection of Alba’s relentless pursuit of safety as a core value. This recognition inspires us to keep empowering our workforce and fostering a culture where safety leads every decision.”

LEEA, based in London and established more than 80 years ago, is known internationally for setting standards within the lifting industry and working with members across sectors to promote safe practices.
