AlSafi Danone, the Arabian arm of the Paris-based packaged food giant Danone Groupe, has bolstered its long-term relationship with the packaging specialists at Tetra Pak by renewing the existing contract. The two companies have worked side-by-side over the last 35 years, building up a successful partnership.

AlSafi Danone markets packaged foods, while the Sweden-based Tetra Pak provides the cardboard packaging for those products.

The latest collaboration between AlSafi Danone and Tetra Pak is a new high-speed production line to let AlSafi take advantage of Tetra Pak’s newly released HeliCap. The innovative screw-cap from Tetra Pak will be used for packaging AlSafi’s long-life milk products.

AlSafi Danone invested in the new production line with the idea that that the consumer-friendly HeliCap will give the company an added advantage in Saudi Arabia’s competitive milk market.

Mohammed AlSarhan, chairman of AlSafi Danone, said the company’s partnership with Tetra Pak is an integral part of the manufacturer’s growth. Tetra Pak’s managing director for the Arabian area, Niels Hougård, echoed the importance of the partnership between the companies.

“We and AlSafi Danone have a strong heritage of innovation,” Hougård said. “Continuing our joint commitment with Al Safi Danone for innovation and offering only the highest quality products to the consumers in the region, we are now bringing the world’s fastest high-speed production line for one liter aseptic cartons with our new one step opening Helicap, which we are extremely proud of.”
