American University of Sharjah issued the following announcement on May 31.

Hundreds of members of the American University of Sharjah (AUS) Class of Spring 2018 attended an iftar held in their honor at the campus of the university last night, May 30. A rehearsal in preparation of the commencement ceremony was also held earlier in the day, followed by the class photo.

AUS Chancellor Dr. Björn Kjerfve congratulated the Class of Spring 2018 in his welcome remarks at the iftar. Charles Diab, Executive Director of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs (OAAA), also welcomed the students and congratulated them on their success. He also thanked the sponsors, Al Zahia, for their support.

The event concluded with a raffle and distribution of class rings.

The AUS Spring 2018 Commencement will be held tonight at University City Hall, Sharjah, and will be attended by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of AUS. A total of 610 undergraduate and graduate candidates will participate in the ceremony.
