Arbitration seminar focuses on commercial contracts

Business professionals
gathered recently to gain insight into arbitration clauses, particularly
what to pay attention to when drafting commercial contracts.

The
International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Qatar hosted the “Drafting Arbitration Clauses” seminar as part of its ongoing series on arbitration and ADR. It was presented by
Squire Patton Boggs.

 
Tarek Saad and Kevin Oles of Squire Patton Boggs gave a presentation
on standard ICC arbitration clauses.

 

“I’d like
to thank the participants for their excellent contributions,” said Charbel
Maakaron, managing partner of Squire Patton Boggs in Doha. “This presentation,
as with other topics to be covered in the monthly series, is intended to share
international best practice in arbitration and also to suggest clear, practical
steps to take, and strategies to pursue, to avoid disputes in the first
instance.”

 

The monthly series is meant to improve method for growing cooperation, trade and investment between Qatar
and businesses across the globe. The free monthly series continues through April. All seminars include presentations from distinguished
arbitrators and legal practitioners.
