A Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board
member recently met with a representative from the Arab Women Investors Union
(AWIU).
Ahlam Janahi, head of the promotion, exhibitions and conferences
sector committee, discussed upcoming events planned by the AWIU with the union’s
president, Huda Yassi, in Bait Al Tijjar.
Yassi informed Janahi of updates to “The First Arab
Joint Business & Industry Exhibition,” the exhibition the AWIU will host in
Bahrain next year. Yassi explained the mindset behind hosting the exhibition
in Bahrain came from the Arab joint cooperation initiative, which was reinforced
by Prince Khalifa Al Khalifa. In addition,
recommendations given at the late conference in Sharm Al Shaikh — and supported by Egyptian Prime Minister Sharif Ismail — were also considered.
Janahi responded by stressing the importance of the event’s
success and assured her sector that the BCCI would do everything possible to
support the exhibition. She also noted that this exhibition is an example of
Bahrain’s opportunities as a business and investment destination; of how the
country aims to do business with neighboring allies; and of how it speaks to the economic
availabilities in certain industries within Bahrain.
