In its first meeting of the year, the information and communication technology (ICT) committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted Aisha Murad, chief of scientific research development at the Secretariat General of the Higher Education Council.

The committee, headed by Ahmed bin Hindi, discussed with Murad the importance of collaboration between academic output and market requirements after the latest suggestions from the National Forum for Education and Employment. The two specifically discussed the cooperation needed within the communication technology division. 

The committee also showed support and eagerness to close the differences between the academic and market specifications.

The committee also discussed its plan to engage government agencies, including the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Tamkeen, regarding the committee’s proposal to found a Telecom Academy in Bahrain.
