The kingdom of Bahrain recently organized the first
Euro-Arab conference on public administration — called the Euromena Conference.

During the event, Zayed Al-Zayani, Bahrain’s minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, spoke about strategic
partnerships between countries and how that will promote sustainable development.

He went on to praise the cooperation between Bahrain and the sultanate of Oman.

“This clearly reflects the keen
interest of the political leaderships of both brotherly states in promoting
development through the exchange of expertise and best practices for the benefit
of their nations,” Al-Zayani said.

Dr. Raed Bin Shams, director-general of the Bahrain
Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) and chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Research (MENAPAR), mentioned the country’s
public administration development.

“The kingdom of Bahrain has become a central point for
scientific research in the Arab World, as BIPA is recognized as a house of
expertise working actively with regional institutes of public administration to
ensure sustainable development in the Arab Word,” Shams said.

The conference focused on modernizing human resources and
the performance of public companies. Other topics included training issues,
strategic vision for human resources, teamwork management tools and
performance of government bodies.
