The Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA)
announced a plan to use online courses through E-LMS that may save governmental
organizations more than $2.6 million a year.

During the month of April, BIPA-provided online training
courses saved more than $212,000, with 500 civil servants completing
free-of-charge classes. BIPA believes this will encourage further utilization
of online training resources in developing employees.

The online courses fall in line with BIPA’s recently
inaugurated strategy that aims to promote government performance in the areas
of policy, strategy, resource management, change and development of government
services. BIPA’s strategy involves utilizing online training, research
mechanisms, consultations, assessment and guidance and strategic
communications.

The training courses focus on broad skills
civil servants need in their day-to-day roles such as leadership basics,
customer service, dispute resolution, development of administration skills,
financial manual and communication strategies, in addition to a set of
learning clips and games made to meet government business requirements in Bahrain.
