The minister of foreign affairs for the Kingdom of Bahrain, Khalid Al Khalifa, recently met with Saudi Arabia Foreign
Minister Adel Al Jubeir and U.S. Secretary of
State John Kerry, in the presence of Secretary General of the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdullatif Al Zayani.
The parties discussed how to strengthen cooperation between
the GCC countries and the U.S. They also went over joint relations to
broader prospects and views on regional issues, such as the situation in the
Republic of Yemen.
Al Khalifa confirmed that the meeting was one of a number
of meetings with the U.S. secretary of state. The parties aim to coordinate
stances on the latest regional developments. The sides agreed to the need to
put an end to crises across the region and ensure its stability. The goal is for
each country to take responsibility toward this end and remain committed to
non-interference in domestic affairs.
Al Khalifa stated that Bahrain fully supports
security efforts for stability in the region.
