Bahraini chocolate maker Chocolate & Co. said last week it expects to be able to produce up to two tons of chocolate a day beginning next year thanks to its new, larger production facility.

The expanded capacity will double the company’s current daily output. Chocolate & Co. officials said the company will support the expansion by also focusing on modernizing its equipment and providing worker training.

The company, which specializes in selling premium chocolates, said it wants to produce more chocolate to be able to supply a greater retail presence in Bahrain while also moving into regional markets in Morocco and India through confection showrooms and franchise locations.

Chocolate & Co. currently operates a production facility in Sanad. The new, larger facility is in the Bahrain International Investment Park.
