The 20th anniversary edition of Beautyworld Middle East, a three-day event showcasing the region’s beauty industry, took place Tuesday through Thursday in Dubai.

“Beautyworld Middle East has, over the last 20 years, carved out a reputation as being the most celebrated and influential beauty and wellness trade fair in a region that is now the world’s fastest-growing beauty market,” Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Middle East, organizer of Beautyworld Middle East, said.

This year’s event featured 1,450 exhibitors from 60 nations. It was conducted in tandem with Centre Stage,  by Nazih Group, a live educational showcase highlighting the latest trends and regulations in the regional beauty industry.

Also new at Beautyworld Middle East 2015 was the Organic and Natural Pavilion, a venue for manufacturers to showcase their latest organic products.

Other major attractions at Beautyworld Middle East included the Beautyworld Middle East Boutique, a showcase of global beauty brands, and the Fragrance Station, a display of more than 200 compound fragrances and perfumes.

Studies have shown that the Middle East and Africa region (MEA) has surpassed Latin America as the world’s fastest-growing beauty market. Information from analyst Euromonitor International said the retail value for the MEA’s beauty and personal care market was $25.7 billion in 2014. Consumers in Saudi Arabia alone spent $4.8 billion on bath and shower products, cosmetics, deodorants, fragrances, hair care products, men’s grooming, oral care and skin care last year.
