Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will organize the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

Belgium’s international pavilion at WETEX will feature six companies that focus on energy, climate technologies, and environmental solutions. These firms will present their work in areas such as renewable energy—including hydropower, nuclear, thermal and wind energy services—as well as water treatment technologies, rainwater harvesting systems, solar-powered pumps, maritime services, climate technology investments, carbon regeneration processes, hydrogen innovation including refueling stations and electrolysers, wet cooling systems for industrial applications, waste management with a focus on hazardous and medical waste treatment solutions, and infrastructure for power generation and data centers.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA as well as Founder and Chairman of WETEX said: “The participation of major Belgian companies at WETEX reflects the strength and depth of economic relations between the UAE and Belgium, and our aspirations to expand trade exchanges between the two countries and explore prospects for consolidating partnerships and investments in areas of mutual interest, especially in the innovation, energy, renewables and net-zero sectors. This contributes to regional and global development, and boosts prosperity, fostering a more sustainable future for all.”

HE Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of Belgium to the UAE stated: “Belgium is honoured to be represented by six forward-thinking companies at WETEX, showcasing our shared commitment with the United Arab Emirates to advancing sustainability, innovation and smart city solutions. This presence reflects the strength of Belgian expertise in diverse key sectors such as green hydrogen, water management and medical waste treatment, and underscores our desire to foster closer co-operation in building a more sustainable future together.”

Edith Mayeux from Wallonia Export & Investment Agency added: “This is a proud moment for Belgium. We are honoured to see Belgian innovation recognised on a global stage such as Sotrad Water receiving the prestigious Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award which Suqia UAE supervises. Our participation in WETEX 2025 reflects not only our commitment to sustainability but also the diversity of solutions our companies bring – from solar-powered mobility and medical waste management to advanced water and energy technologies. Belgium continues to deliver practical forward-thinking answers to today’s most urgent environmental challenges.”

The exhibition aims to showcase international cooperation on climate technology development while supporting both nations’ goals toward sustainability through innovative partnerships.
