India-based firm Berger Paints marked 15 years of operations in Oman at a special event for stakeholders and business partners at the Millennium Resort Mussanah earlier this week.

The company’s Regional Vice President I.K. Jaiswal flew into Oman for the occasion, where he highlighted Berger Paints’ storied history from a London-based firm founded by a German immigrant to a major player in the global paint manufacturing business.

In Oman, Berger Paints initially started with imports, and then built its first factory in 2000 at Ghala, Muscat. This year the company expanded operations with a second factory going online in Sohar.

Jaiswal said operations in Oman have always surpassed expectations and reiterated the firm’s faith in the Gulf nation’s business environment.

The celebration also saw the introduction of three new products specially engineered for Oman’s climate requirements.

Weathercoat Ultra, an exterior paint, will be the first product in Oman with a 10-year performance promise covering film integrity, crack bridging and temperature reduction.

Also introduced was Tuff Shyne, a more economic exterior paint based on nanotechnology designed to give the paint a four-year performance promise. The paint line is to be aimed at budget-conscious consumers who are looking for a silky finish for outside.

Berger Paints also launched Mumtaz economy emulsion for interiors.
