The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) recently
received a delegation from the Russian embassy, led by the Capital Governorate, to
discuss the latest training developments in Islamic finance.
The meeting took
place at the Institute Campus in Juffair.
Ruslan Guchetl represented the Russian embassy. Representing
the Capital Governorate were Strategic Planning Director Yusuf Lori and
Senior Program Coordinator Fatima Al Ali. BIBF Deputy Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh attended the meeting for BIBF.
During the meeting, those involved talked about the Islamic
Finance market, citing the latest research studies in the field. Guchetl
mentioned his interest in cooperating with the BIBF and learning more about the
organization’s programs. The participants discussed how they could take BIBF’s
experience and replicate it in Russia.
“The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF)
welcomes all aspects of cooperation with the various embassies and consulates,
we are delighted to share our knowledge and experience and transfer our
training model in regards to Islamic finance training to an international
audience,” Al Shaikh said.
This meeting follows efforts last October to grow
cooperation. At that time, Capital Governor Shaikh Al Khalifa assured the Russian governor of St. Petersburg that the
Kingdom of Bahrain is the hub of Islamic banking in the region.
