Capital Gate Tower awarded Africa & Arabia Property Award

The Capital Gate Tower in Abu Dhabi in the United Emirates (UAE) was awarded the Africa & Arabia Property Award for Commercial High-Rise Development 2015 last week.

The tower is owned by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC). 

“… This award will encourage us to continue our efforts to offer sustainable and innovative solutions for the benefit of our stakeholders in the business tourism industry, while supporting the emirate’s vision to develop a knowledge-based economy on par with the most advanced economies in the world,” ADNEC’s Acting CEO Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri said. 

The Capital Gate Tower has an incline of 18 degrees, approximately four times that of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy.
The Guinness Book of Records recognizes the tower as the furthest leaning manmade building in the world.  

Judges evaluated design, service, innovation and quality of buildings in determining the award winners.The Africa & Arabia Property Awards is part of the International Property Awards. Judges evaluated more than 100 entries from 25 countries in the region.

ADNEC has received 74 awards across its industry sectors. These include the Venue of the Year for ExCel London and Best Middle East Exhibition for IDEX.
