The Women in the Financial and Banking Sector Conference will take place Nov. 30 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bahrain Bay.
The event is being organized by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB ) and the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). The conference’s gold sponsor is United Gulf Bank (UGB), and it will be held under the patronage of Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King of Bahrain and president of the Supreme Council for Women.

“As a leading asset management, merchant and investment banking group with operations across the region, we are delighted to lend our support to this important event that not only acknowledges the achievements of women in our industry but also seeks to ensure further diversification and growth in the sector through their development and promotion,” Hussain Lalani, UGB’s acting CEO, said. “As an organization, we place strategic emphasis on education and the nurturing of talent — across genders — and believe this initiative is well in line with our commitment to fostering human capital and contributing to the overall economic and social prosperity of the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

The conference is the culmination of a year-long campaign that included several Women’s Day activities; more than 250 women involved in the region’s banking industry are expected to attend. Topics to be addressed will include the future of women in finance, competition in the field and how women can be leaders in changing the industry.
