Comodo, a cyber security solutions company, has announced that Senior Research Specialist Kenneth Geers will present on the growing
and evolving threat of ransomware in the Middle East at RSA Conference 2016 Abu
Dabi, which is set to take place from Nov. 15-16.

Ransomware, a hack attack against institutions designed to
deny service, usually attempts to extort money — typically in Bitcoin form.
Criminals using this technique often encrypt data and render systems useless, forcing a company to rely on old-school communication methods like fax
machines. The threat is only growing as the number of attacks grows with
the rise of internet-enabled devices.

Geers’ presentation, “Ransomware in the Middle
East,” will examine the origin of this type of hack attack. He
will go over various methods used by the hackers as well as steps companies can
take to grow their proactive and reactive defense solutions.

Geers is one of many experts attending the event, all of
which will look to help organizations secure their companies and their future.
