Copart Inc., an online vehicle auction company, recently announced that it has opened its third branch in Halban/Barka near Muscat.

The branch, called Copart Muscat Auctions LLC, is now accepting business. Its first auction will be held on June 23. After the initial sale, further auctions will be held every Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. local time.

“We are excited to continue to expand capacity and offer increased capabilities to meet our clients’ needs,” Carlos Sabugueiro, Copart’s CEO of the Middle East and Africa, said. “With its proximity to major shipping ports, the Oman facility will improve logistics and convenience for our buyers and sellers — both domestic and international.”

Copart has steadily expanded its presence throughout the Middle East. In 2012, the company established its Middle Eastern headquarters in Dubai and another branch in Manama, Bahrain. In May 2015, the company established its first branch in Oman.

“Copart’s new facility in Oman is the latest expansion of our global footprint,”

Copart President

Vinnie Mitz said. “With this new location, we will be better able to support our customers in the region and enhance options for our buyers in more than 150 different countries across the globe.”
