Saud Al Meshari, secretary general of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC), recently met with Dia Al Deen Bamakhrama, Djibouti’s ambassador to Saudi
Arabia.

The two
leaders discussed ways they could enhance trade cooperation between the two countries. Al Meshari said the CSC hopes to enhance
relations with the horn of Africa. This region of the world, the secretary general said, is strategically located, has ports in close proximity with
the kingdom and provides great investment opportunities for
Saudi companies.

Bamakhrama praised the development of the two countries’ relationship. He
said that Djibouti is a gateway to the region and can help promote Saudi
exports in African markets through its memberships in the Intergovernmental Authority on Development and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.
The ambassador urged the secretary general to relay these opportunities to
Saudi business people.

The two
leaders also talked about preparations for a Saudi delegation’s upcoming visit
to Djibouti. A joint economic forum will highlight opportunities in the ports
sector between the two nations.
