Luxury Facilities Management (LFM), which handles the facilities management of DAMAC Properties’ buildings, has earned the ISO 50001: 2011 Energy Management Certification by TUV Middle East.

TUV Middle East provides certification, inspections, assessments, testing, auditing and training services throughout the region.

ISO 50001: 2011 sets forth requirements that organizations should follow to enhance energy performance in terms of consumption and efficiency.

“This certification demonstrates DAMAC’s commitment to compliance with the ISO 50001 standards, with the fundamental aim of improving the efficiency of energy management systems and decreasing the overall energy consumption and the associated environmental impact,” DAMAC Properties Managing Director Ziad El Chaar said. “Our diligent facilities management team actively worked towards gathering and analyzing energy data especially related to electricity, water and chilled water, and consequently achieved a reduction in energy consumption.”

The energy information collected by LFM was used to create energy efficiency awareness events and an annual sustainability action plan. The latter accounted for many energy factors including motion sensors, LED lights and set-points for chilled water systems.

Among the DAMAC buildings that LFM provides facilities management services are Ocean Heights, The Waves and Park Towers.
