DEWA discusses expanded partnership with Italian Embassy on clean energy initiatives

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), met with HE Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, and HE Edoardo Napoli, Consul General of Italy in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between DEWA and Italian institutions, especially in sustainability, clean energy, and innovation.

Al Tayer welcomed the Italian delegation and recognized the strong relationship between the UAE and Italy. He stated DEWA’s commitment to working with Italian companies and international partners to exchange knowledge, promote innovation, and apply best practices in sustainability, clean energy, and the circular economy.

Al Tayer also discussed DEWA’s ongoing projects aimed at supporting the country’s leadership vision for sustainability and a green economy. He mentioned investments in advanced energy storage systems and smart grid technologies designed to improve efficiency and ensure reliable energy supplies using innovations such as smart meters and artificial intelligence.

The Italian representatives praised Dubai’s work in sustainability as well as DEWA’s progress in clean and renewable energy. They expressed interest in expanding collaboration to foster strategic partnerships that would support progress and innovation across key sectors.
