Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has extended an invitation to media professionals attending the 2025 Arab Media Summit to explore its projects focused on sustainability, clean energy, and innovation. These initiatives aim to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leader in global innovation and sustainability, aligning with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.

As the Strategic Sustainability Partner of the summit, DEWA will be present at the event from May 26 to May 28 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The summit is expected to attract leading media professionals from major Arab and international organizations.

On the second day of the summit, DEWA representatives will participate in a panel discussion titled “Using Future Technologies to Promote Sustainability.” This session will cover topics such as artificial intelligence and advanced technologies that enhance operational efficiency and drive digital transformation. It will also focus on how these technologies contribute to DEWA’s net-zero target by 2050.

DEWA’s stand at the summit will feature a model of Al Shera’a, its new headquarters in Al Jaddaf. Designed as the tallest, largest, and smartest net-positive government building globally, Al Shera’a aims for Platinum LEED certification and Gold WELL Building Standard rating. The building integrates IoT, Big Data analytics, AI, and renewable energy solutions for high efficiency. A dedicated bridge will link it directly to Al Jaddaf metro station to encourage public transport use while reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions.

The building will have over 20,000 square metres covered by photovoltaic solar panels with more than 1,000 square metres of integrated photovoltaic panels on its façade. The total solar panel production capacity is set to exceed five megawatts. Robots are planned for cleaning these solar panels.
