Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been named the world’s top utility in corporate agility for the second consecutive year by the Business Agility Institute (BAI), a global non-profit organization that evaluates corporate agility, maturity, and resilience. This recognition follows a comprehensive assessment by BAI, which included interviews with DEWA’s senior management and surveys of employees at various levels.
In addition to its global ranking, DEWA was recognized as Dubai’s leading government entity in institutional agility. The evaluation highlighted DEWA’s ability to adopt agile work concepts and methods efficiently.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, commented on the achievement: “DEWA’s achievement of this leading position, for the second consecutive year, reflects our ongoing efforts to consolidate a culture of organisational agility across all divisions, in line with the vision and directives of the wise leadership that places excellence and innovation as top priorities. This global recognition also highlights Dubai’s pioneering role in anticipating the future and adopting international best practices, as well as DEWA’s ability to adapt to rapid change and turn challenges into opportunities that enhance sustainable development.”
Al Tayer added: “We are committed to building an integrated organisational system based on resilience and the ability to adapt quickly to new developments. This is supported by investment in the latest Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and cloud computing, along with our leadership in clean and renewable energy. We are proud that DEWA is a role model in agility, which contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the UAE and Dubai as a global hub for innovation, sustainability and future shaping.”
Evan Leybourn, co-founder of BAI, stated: “DEWA’s recognition as a Certified Agile Organisation shows what’s possible when customer centricity and innovation are at the heart of an organisation. To be named the highest rated utility globally and one of the top-rated government agencies in Dubai, for the second year in a row, is more than a milestone – it’s a testament to their vision, resilience and commitment to shaping a better future for their customers and community.”
The assessment noted that DEWA made significant progress during recent global challenges by capitalizing on opportunities. BAI confirmed that DEWA outperformed similar organizations worldwide in terms of size and complexity due to its robust corporate model focused on innovation and transformation.
