Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) dedication to streamlining administrative systems to provide better, more cost-effective services for its customers, employees and partners has led to the company being re-certified in integrated management systems by Bureau Veritas, a testing, inspection and certification firm.

“DEWA works in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to achieve the highest standards of quality and excellence in all fields,” Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s CEO, said. “We work towards achieving the Dubai Plan 2021, and DEWA’s vision to become a sustainable world-class utility that is capable of meeting the needs of the community with an efficient, reliable strategy to assure that an international standard of quality is met throughout all of our services, guaranteeing the safety of our employees and protecting our natural resources.”

DEWA has achieved a number of other certifications, including Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2008, Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2004 and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems OHSAS 18001:2007.

“DEWA’s Integrated Management Systems re-certification is a result of quality, excellence and DEWA ‘s adherence to the highest of standards among all environmental and occupational health and safety operations,” Al Tayer said. “This strategy aims to enhance services and improve efficiency.”
