The Sustainability and Innovation Centre at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received two Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards. The centre earned the gold medal in the “Best Advance in Education Delivered through Technology” category, recognising its achievements in digital education focused on sustainability and future skills. It also secured the silver medal for “Best Advance in Social Impact Innovation,” acknowledging its contributions to social impact through sustainability and innovation.

These awards bring the centre’s total international recognitions for 2025 to six. This record highlights its role as a leader in promoting clean and renewable energy, preparing youth with future-ready skills, and encouraging innovation in digital education and community development.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director & CEO of DEWA, said: “Achieving six international awards in a single year underscores the centre’s position as a regional and global hub for sustainability, as well as a leading platform that empowers researchers, youths and society to transform knowledge into tangible outcomes that advance sustainable development.” He added: “The centre equips Emiratis to meet future requirements, in line with DEWA’s commitment to supporting innovation and the shift to a low-emission, knowledge-based economy.”

Earlier this year, the centre was recognised with several other honours. These include the SEAL Business Sustainability Award for “Pioneering Sustainability Services,” being named Thomson Reuters “Transition Advocator” at the Reuters Global Energy Transition Awards 2025, as well as receiving both “Sustainability Service of the Year” and “Sustainability Squad” awards from the US-based Business Intelligence Group. These distinctions reflect its broad influence across education, sustainability initiatives, and societal engagement.

Since opening, the centre has hosted thousands of visitors from within and outside the UAE. It has conducted hundreds of training programmes and workshops while forming strategic partnerships with international universities and institutions. This activity positions it as a benchmark for knowledge transfer and an agent of innovation within sustainability.
