The Youth Council of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) recently visited Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, engaging with children to uplift their spirits. The visit included distributing gifts and participating in interactive activities, fostering a sense of community and mutual care.
“In line with the Year of Community and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, and the guidance of DEWA’s top management, we launch initiatives and activities that allow DEWA’s youth to contribute effectively to society and participate in volunteer work. These efforts embody the values of generosity, compassion and solidarity, strengthening the fabric of Dubai’s cohesive and dynamic community. The council supports DEWA’s social responsibility and advances its efforts to establish a culture of volunteer work among its employees,” said Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, DEWA’s Youth Council President.
Members of the Youth Council expressed appreciation for DEWA’s support in providing them with meaningful experiences through transformative initiatives that positively impact society.
Between October 2019 and December 2024, the Youth Council organized various events including 74 events, 23 awareness sessions, seven educational trips, field visits, participation in 11 international forums and conferences, as well as engagement in four national and international programs during 2023-2024. Additionally, they launched more than ten communication platforms for young employees.
In early 2025, the council participated in drafting the Dubai youth values charter titled ‘My Values, My Future’, establishing a framework to empower young people for sustainable development. The council’s President also took part in panel discussions at Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) within the Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) Hub. This initiative aims to empower future sustainability leaders by emphasizing youth empowerment in renewable energy sectors. Furthermore, an interactive trip to Mushrif Park was organized to promote sustainable living among youths.
