The Sustainability and Innovation Centre at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been recognized with two Sustainability Awards 2025 from the Business Intelligence Group, based in the United States. The centre received awards in the categories of ‘Sustainability Service of the Year’ and ‘Sustainability Squad’. These honors highlight the centre’s contributions to advancing clean energy innovation and promoting sustainability.

“These prestigious global awards enhance the Sustainability and Innovation Centre’s excellence and confirm its leadership in stimulating clean and renewable energy innovation, raising awareness and co-operation in the field of sustainability, accelerating the energy transition and driving investments that will ensure a more sustainable and bright future for all. The centre supports DEWA’s vital role in achieving the objectives of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of the emirate’s energy production capacity from clean sources by 2050,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

Al Tayer also acknowledged the centre’s employees for their teamwork and efforts to enhance collaboration both locally and internationally. He noted that these efforts help advance national and global climate objectives.

The Sustainability and Innovation Centre employs a comprehensive approach to presenting sustainability concepts. It serves as an incubator for green energy technologies and provides a platform for awareness through interactive exhibitions, educational experiences, professional training, and innovation initiatives.

The centre organizes campaigns focused on clean and renewable energy and offers daily guided learning sessions for visitors. It delivers certified technical training in partnership with international organizations and runs youth leadership initiatives. The centre’s training programs are designed to build technical skills, leadership abilities, and knowledge in clean energy, ESG practices, and sustainability systems.

Professionals who complete training at the centre receive professional certification. The centre aims to develop Emirati talent for active roles in the future of renewable energy.
