Emaar Entertainment, the leisure and entertainment
subsidiary of Dubai-based Emaar Properties, and Discovery Consumer Products, the licensing
arm of Discovery Communications, announced the opening of the
next phase of their partnership, the “Discovery
Channel Shark Week” exhibit at Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.

“At Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, we’re passionate
about educating the public on these incredible and often misunderstood
creatures,” Paul Hamilton, general manager and curator of Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, said. “The ‘Discovery Channel Shark Week’ exhibit invites
visitors into the incredible world of sharks in a truly innovative way that
both educates and entertains.

The exhibit features digital technology entwined with
living marine life, providing fresh new ways to showcase the marine creatures
to tourists and the citizens of the UAE. Species in the exhibition include hammerhead sharks, bonnethead sharks and devil rays.

“Celebrating its 28th anniversary year, Shark Week is
arguably one of Discovery Channel’s most iconic and talked-about program franchises”  Amanda Turnbull, vice president country manager, Discovery Networks MENA, said. “For
years, Shark Week has sought to show a different side of these mysterious
creatures and educate audiences about their natural behaviors and habitats.”
