Ramsey Jurdi recently became the sixth partner of the Middle East litigation, arbitration and investigation team at global law firm DLA Piper.

“The Middle East is fast becoming a major hub for international trade and with that, we are seeing an increasing amount of U.S. and other regulation in the region, on which our clients require guidance,” Henry Quinlan, head of DLA Piper’s Middle East litigation, arbitration and investigations practice, said. “Ramsey’s market reputation and significant regional experience in this specialist and growing area complements our existing capabilities.”

Ramsey, who was previously with Chadbourne & Parke in Dubai, specializes in international disputes, trade compliance and regulatory matters. He has advised U.S. and international companies on issues such as economic sanctions, white-collar crimes and construction disputes. Ramsey regularly takes part in arbitration proceedings and serves as president of the American Business Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Ramsey’s hiring comes as Daniel Jude returns to the Middle East team after spending a year at DLA Piper’s UK location. Additionally, the firm has promoted Andre Saade to legal director and Sam Stevens to senior legal consultant. Peter Anagnostou and Daniel Xu have also been added to the team as senior legal consultants.
