Employees of the Doha Marriott hotel in Doha, Qatar, were recently honored with several global awards from the company including Property Sales Team of the Year, Revenue Strategy Leader of the Year, and eCommerce Leader of the Year.

Moira Azzopardi, who holds the hotel’s lead position for revenue and renovations, was named Revenue Strategy Leader of the Year.
She restructured the department after taking her job, which had been vacant for a year and a half, by moving the department to the hotel’s sales and marketing floor, increasing communication between departments, and showing support and appreciation to the associates on her team.

Cristobal Galit Jr., who runs the hotel’s online business, was named Global eCommerce Leader of the Year.
He increased the hotel’s online business by encouraging direct bookings through Marriott.com, posting on social media sites, and working closely with the hotel’s marketing team. Over the past year, the hotel’s property traffic has increased by 31 percent.

The Doha Marriott is a beachfront hotel situated just minutes from the Hamad International Airport. It features fine restaurants and a nightclub; clean, comfortable guest rooms and suites; a full-service spa; a fitness center; swimming pools and complimentary wi-fi.
