Young entrepreneurs in UAE once again have a chance to transform Dubai into a smarty city as the second edition of the Dubai Smartpreneur Competition has been launched.

Held by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Smart Dubai Office, the competition seeks innovative smart technology business ideas in the categories of the economy, mobility, environment, people, governance and living.

“These bright young entrepreneurs are essential to the success of our smart city ambitions,” Smart Dubai Office Director General Aisha bin Bishr said. “The second cycle of Smartpreneur competition will not only be an opportunity to discover the best products and services improving city experiences. It will be an engagement platform to support local entrepreneurs to actively contribute to and lead our citywide transformation.”

A cash prize of AED 150,000 will be distributed among the first three winners. Winners will also have the opportunity to participate in the chamber’s Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development program which helps entrepreneurs advance their business ideas through mentorship and training.

“The benefits of this competition go far beyond financial rewards,” Dubai Chamber 2nd Vice-Chairman Hisham Al Shirawi said. “Participants also get a unique chance to network with industry influencers, interact with mentors, and gain valuable feedback needed to improve and grow their businesses.”
