Representatives from the Dubai Association Centre (DAC) recently ended their tours of Belgium and the United States to promote the association.

The trip included stops in Brussels for the 3rd European Association Summit; Chicago, Illinois; and Washington, D.C.

Roundtable discussions were held in Washington and Chicago. More than 50 participants from a variety of professional associations attended these discussions, which included talks about creating a regional representative office for businesses based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Dubai Association Centre was founded in 2014 as part of an agreement between the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The purpose of the agreement is to offer professional associations the assistance they need to construct office space, and improve activities and membership throughout Dubai.

“Thanks to extensive promotion over the past year, international associations now recognize that the Dubai Association Centre is an ideal platform to help them grow,” Steen Jakobsen, director of Dubai business events for the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said. “As a regional springboard to boost membership numbers, find new funding opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and establish local and regional chapters, global bodies are keen to leverage the opportunities DAC presents for them to grow their presence in the UAE and the wider Middle East region.”
