GCC businesses
that paved the way for others to follow got their day in the sun at
an awards ceremony hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce recently.

The companies, honored as the best performers of 2016,
came together at the 9th cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum
(MRM) Business Award and 1st cycle of the MRM Business Innovation
Award.

The Business Award
recognizes organizations that have had a positive impact on the
economy in areas such as finance, manufacturing, construction and
trade. The Business Innovation Award, which the chamber launched in
cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy, recognizes leaders in
innovation whose practices have contributed to the development of
their respective economies.

“The benefits of these
competitive award programs are invaluable and go far beyond
recognition, as the training and assessment provide participants with
the tools they need to improve,” Hamad Buamim, president and CEO
of the Dubai Chamber, said. “With every new cycle, we continue
to see growing interest as more businesses realize the importance of
adopting strategies that drive sustainable growth.”
