Dubai chamber calls trade mission to India a success

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in a release that it plans to open an office in Mumbai, India, after recently concluding a successful trade mission to India to help strengthen bilateral trade and investment between the two nations.

The trade mission was organized to facilitate economic cooperation and to examine possible trade and investment opportunities in India, the release said.

Meetings during the visit involved Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani and UAE Ambassador to India Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Banna as well as chamber officials and representatives from India’s private sector.

Dubai Chamber Chairman Majid Saif Al Ghurai said in the release that the mission built on the progress achieved during the recent visit to India by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi.

During the visit, 14 strategic agreements were signed between the two countries that should boost cooperation in a number of areas and sectors, the release said.
