The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) that will improve the relationships between entrepreneurship, the DSOA’s wholly owned Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre (DETC), and the chamber’s initiative involving Tejar Dubai.

The DTEC is the biggest in the Middle East. The strategic agreement will encourage cooperation between this large resource and local entrepreneurship, as DSOA is now obligated to offer preferential and exclusive rights to projects and initiatives with Tejar Dubai and DTEC.

“Our strategic partnership with DSOA is highly important as this aims at promoting a culture of entrepreneurship in the country while reflecting both the organisations’ commitment to support aspiring national entrepreneurs by helping them to succeed in the business world,” His Excellency Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of the Dubai Chamber, said.

These two enterprises will now share their event calendars in order to encourage participation at events that will benefit entrepreneurs in technology and Digital Islamic Economy and Arabic projects.

“We are fully committed to supporting entrepreneurs through our newly established hub DTEC, the largest hub of its kind in the region to provide existing and emerging technology and Digital Islamic Economy start-up founders with a stimulating and effective working environment,” His Excellency Mohammed Alzarooni,

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority

vice chairman and CEO, said. “More importantly, DTEC promotes creativity and innovation through enabling entrepreneurs to transform their plans and ideas into successful businesses.

“We have signed multiple memorandums and agreements supporting creativity and entrepreneurship in the UAE, such as our recent agreement with Intel to set up an (Internet of Things) lab facility supporting local innovation and developing a Smart City Centre of Excellence and Innovation at DTEC,” Alzarooni said. “We are confident these initiatives will benefit emerging national and local talent during the developmental phases of their projects and ideas.”
