Dubai chamber hosts breakfast to showcase trends in food and beverage sector

The Dubai
Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted the Gulfood
Breakfast Briefing at its headquarters. 

The meeting was attended by
250 delegates from 36 countries in addition to several representatives from Dubai’s business community.

 

Held on the sidelines of Gulfood 2017, the event was an opportunity to discuss new trends and opportunities for growth in Dubai’s food and
beverage sector. Atiq Juma Nasib, senior vice president of commercial services at Dubai Chamber, delivered an opening speech, outlining the advantages that Dubai can provide food suppliers and exporters
across the globe.

 

He noted
the Emirate’s strategic location, which can provide
trade partners with easier access to markets in the Middle East, Africa
and Asia. He also said Dubai is keen on making itself a global capital of
Islamic economy, a strategy in line with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai.

 

Amina Ahmed
Mohamed, executive director of Emirates Global Center for Accreditation, spoke
at the event as well, educating delegates about the halal food industry’s
accreditation process. Omar Khan, director of international offices of Dubai
Chamber, was a keynote speaker, providing guests with an overview of Dubai’s
economy.
