Dubai Chamber joins My Family Reads initiative in support of UAE’s commitment to knowledge

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry said it
has joined the My Family Reads initiative launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum Foundation to help grow the reading culture among Emirati families
in support of the UAE’s commitment to spreading
awareness of the principle of Reading for All in the Year of Reading.

Dubai Chamber distributed 5,000 boxes containing 20 Arabic
books on different topics to families. The chamber also gave 200 boxes to its
staff members and their families.

Dubai Chamber President and CEO Hamad Buamin said that joining the My Family Reads initiative will help raise the level of
knowledge in the Emirates and among the organization’s staff and families. He
further noted that this is another step in growing the country’s intellectual
and literary culture.

 The My Family Reads initiative was launched by Sheikh
Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and UAE vice president and prime minister. His goal was to develop an advanced society based
on knowledge. He wants to provide access on the newest in science and art to
citizens of the Emirates in order to promote creativity and innovation.
