Dubai Chamber meets with Paraguay president to discuss bilateral relations

Paraguay President Horacio Cartes recently announced plans to open the country’s first commercial representative office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this year.

Cartes met with a delegation from Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and spoke of his intention to grow trade and investment between the two nations, according to an announcement. This meeting was held on the sidelines of the Global Business Forum on Latin America roadshow, which was organized by the Dubai Chamber. Cartes said that Paraguay would provide any necessary resources to facilitate bilateral development.

Majid Saif Al Ghurair, chairman of Dubai Chamber, led the delegation for Dubai. He provided an overview of Dubai-Paraguay relations during the meeting.

Al Ghurair was joined by Hisham Abdulla Al Shirawi, 2nd vice chairman of Dubai Chamber; Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of Dubai Chamber; Essa Al Ghurair, chairman of Essa Al Ghurair Investment; Abdul Hamid Seddiqi, vice chairman of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons; Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC); Dr. Juma Al Matroushi, deputy CEO, operations and client affairs, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority; and Dr. Mohammad Al Fahim, senior vice president, corporate development, Dubai South.
