The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry will showcase what the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has to offer global retailers and tourists at the World Retail Congress in Rome, Italy, from Sept. 8 to 10.

This year marks the ninth edition of the World Retail Congress, with the theme of “Retail Transformation Today, Tomorrow and Beyond.” The conference brings global business leaders together to collaborate on new ideas and innovations, while providing a forum to debate challenges and opportunities facing the retail industry.

The conference has grown each year since its inception in 2007, drawing in more than 1,300 retail leaders from 73 countries for last year’s round in Paris, France.

Among those international retailers are many top outlets from the UAE including Majid Al Futtaim, Landmark Group, Jumbo Electronics, Aswaaq.com, Apparel Group and more.

“The Chamber delegation will leave no stone unturned in highlighting the competitiveness and potential of Dubai businesses, especially from the retail sector, comprising of multinational investors thriving and expanding their business in the UAE and across the region,” Dubai Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Hamad Buamim said.

The UAE’s retail market was estimated to be worth almost $33 billion in 2014 with strong growth expected for this year. That makes Dubai the perfect place to host next year’s 10-year anniversary edition of World Retail Congress.
