Dubai Chamber of Commerce participates in Africa investment conference

The Dubai
Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently participated in the
Investing in Africa conference in London, an event put together by the Wall
Street Journal.

Al Ghurair, chairman of the Dubai Chamber, addressed those in attendance at the
conference, speaking about the importance of trade between Dubai and Africa. He
also talked about the Chamber’s expansion plans on the continent.

 

“Dubai’s trade relationship with Africa has gone from strength to
strength in recent years, supported by the trade missions led by the Chamber
and the expansion of our international offices in promising markets on the
continent,” Al Ghurair said. “The number of African companies
registered with Dubai Chamber has now exceeded 12,000, which is a testament to
the increased cooperation between both sides.”

 

In
attendance at the event were Patrick Njoroge, governor of the Central Bank of
Kenya; Uche Orji, managing director and CEO of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment
Authority; Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, director general and CEO of the National Pension
Commission of Nigeria; Chris Folayan, founder and CEO of MallforAfrica.com;
Akinwumi Adesina, president of the African Development Bank; and Mo Ibrahim, chairman of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
