The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently
listed its key objectives and initiatives for its 2017-21 strategy during the annual media briefing.
Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of Dubai Chamber, led the
briefing, noting that the
2017-21 strategy takes a consumer-oriented strategy to strengthen competitiveness
and growth in the region’s private sector.
The plan also aims to reinforce the
Chamber’s role as a partner for the business community. The strategy uses four pillars – promoting Dubai as a business hub for the world, creating a
strong environment for businesses, supporting business development, and
becoming the global leader for Chambers of Commerce.
“Dubai Chamber has studied the needs
of the private sector, and developed an integrated strategy that aligns such
requirements with the objectives of the Dubai Plan 2021,” Buamim said. “The
strategy encompasses the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to accelerate
the emirate’s economic growth, boost the competitiveness of the private
sector, and attract leading global companies to specialised sectors within
Dubai.”
