Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and CEO Hamad Buamim will be representing the emirate on a national level as the deputy chair of the World Chambers Federation (WCF).

Buamim will serve a three-year term as one of WCF’s six vice chairs. At the end of his term as vice chair, he will be eligible to be elected as chairman of the organization.

Buamim said his new position at WCF will boost the Dubai chamber’s efforts to support e-commerce and other initiatives across the Gulf Cooperation Council region by connecting GCC businesses with other chamber resources from all over the world.

“This recognition not only reflects on the UAE’s status in the region’s economic scene and the great trust that Dubai enjoys as a strategic business destination but directly reflects on the wise leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice president and prime minister and ruler of Dubai who is continuously supporting the business community and is behind the success of the country’s economic growth,” Buamim said.

WCF’s membership includes representatives from 12,000 chambers.
