Fifty members of Japan’s tourism and travel trade were recently hosted by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

The trip, which ran from Oct. 5-10, focused on Dubai’s main tourism destinations as well as to introduce key stakeholders from Dubai.

The visitors toured the Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa, Atlantis, The Palm and Madinat Jumeirah. There was also a special presentation by representatives of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, a desert safari, a seaplane tour and a dinner cruise on Dubai Creek.

Over the past several years, Japan has become increasingly important to the tourism industry in Dubai, and United Arab Emirates officials are working on a tourism strategy that includes all Asian countries.

The department will host another trip in Novenber for 500 members of China’s travel industry.
