The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently announced that Al Mizhar Health
Center would open a state-of-the-art, community-based physiotherapy unit to help those with disabilities as well as the elderly and children in need
of long-term care.
The physiotherapy unit’s launch is part of the Dubai
Disability Strategy 2020, the national elderly welfare strategy for 2023 and
Dubai’s 2021 vision.
“DHA spares no effort with keeping up with the growing
demand in the medical service sector especially in health centers, which are
currently witnessing expansions in its services and facilities,” Humaid Al Qatami, director general of DHA, said.
The center has also added three new dental rooms, allowing
it to increase its patient capacity from 80 to 115 per day. The two major
expansions come as part of the center’s merging with Al Qusais Health Center.
“Following the closure of Al Qusais Health Center for
developmental work we have added the three dental rooms to be able to meet the
bigger patient intake,” Dr. Hamda Al Mesmar, director of Dental Services Department at DHA, said. “We provide all dental services that include general
dentistry, teeth cleaning, treating gums, teeth implants, braces and children
dental care to name a few.”
