The chairman of the board and director-general of the Dubai
Health Authority (DHA), Humaid Al Qatami, recently inspected
Dubai Hospital’s newest facilities.

“The DHA is keen to expand its services and constantly
develop its existing services as well as keep up with the latest in technology
and imaging to ensure we provide our patients high-quality patient-centric
services,” Al Qatami said. “The expansion is in line with our strategy to
increase capacity, ensure patient satisfaction and most importantly provide
patients with high-level specialized health care.”

Dubai Hospital, one of the oldest in the city, provides a
range of services and houses one of the emirate’s largest neonatal units. Departments
undergoing expansion included the radiology, cardiology, gynecology and
neonatology groups.

The neonatology department expanded bed capacity to 38 and
plans to add four more by the end of the year. The radiology department added additional
advanced CT scans and advanced MRI machines. The gynecology department expanded
in a way that ensures each labor suite has complete privacy. The cardiology
department increased bed capacity from 42 to 54 beds and added a full-fledged
cardiac imaging center.

Accompanying Al Qatami on the tour of the facility were Dr.
Ahmad Bin Kalban, CEO of Hospital Services Sector at the DHA, and Dr. Abdulrehman
Al Jassmi, oncologist and CEO of Dubai Hospital, among others.
