The Dubai Hospital averaged 85 percent occupancy during 2015, United Arab Emirates (UAE) health officials announced Tuesday.

The hospital saw 30,694 patients overall, including 10,324 surgeries, and an average of 350 to 450 emergency room patients per day. Outpatient clinics saw more than 900 patients per day on average.

The hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit and intensive care unit were even busier than the hospital overall, posting occupancy rates of 90 and 100 percent, respectively.

Hospital officials said the high occupancy rates were a testament to the quality of the hospital’s services, which have attracted patients from abroad as well as from other parts of the UAE.

Dubai Hospital has 721 beds and a staff of doctors specializing and sub-specializing in 26 different areas of medical care.

Opened in 1983, Dubai Hospital is one of several hospitals managed by the Dubai Health Authority, a government organization that manages Dubai’s health system. It is accredited through the Joint Commission International and recognized as life support center by the American Heart Association.
