Dubai Humanitarian recently participated in the 2025 Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) in Geneva, emphasizing its dedication to enhancing humanitarian coordination, digital transformation, and sustainable innovation in emergency response.
During the event, Dubai Humanitarian was involved in significant discussions, leading two key sessions and participating in expert panels that addressed vital challenges in humanitarian operations.
Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, commented on the event’s importance: “HNPW is an invaluable platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and driving meaningful solutions in humanitarian response. In one session focused on digitalization to support humanitarian response, Dubai Humanitarian discussed the role of digital transformation in logistics. Moderated by IMPACCT’s Virginie Bohl, this session explored advanced cargo information systems (ACI) and digital customs clearance solutions aimed at improving aid delivery efficiency. The organization highlighted its call for a Global Safety Net through its Humanitarian Logistics Databank which aids in mapping items with unified Harmonized System codes. Digital platforms’ roles in warehouse management were also discussed.
Another session centered on empowering local responders through knowledge transfer rather than traditional capacity-building methods. Moderated by Prof. Dr. J. Rod Franklin, this discussion stressed the need for collaboration between humanitarian organizations and other sectors to foster impactful change. It highlighted bridging communication gaps between various actors to prioritize local voices.
CEO Giuseppe Saba also delivered a keynote address during a Peaceland Foundation session on corporate partnerships for innovation. He spoke about collaboration’s importance for innovative solutions while participating with IMPACCT alongside entities like WCO and UNCTAD on importation discussions.
Saba featured as a speaker at DIHAD’s session “Humanitarian Diplomacy in a Polarized World: Challenges and Opportunities,” addressing constraints on diplomacy efforts within the sector. He emphasized stronger partnerships with civil society needed due to rising supply chain costs affecting aid delivery.
