Dubai Humanitarian holds masterclass on importation processes for humanitarian response

Dubai Humanitarian, in collaboration with the IMPACCT Working Group, Dubai Customs, HELP Logistics, UNCTAD, and DP-DHL, organized an Advanced Masterclass on Importation & Customs for Humanitarian Response at its Knowledge & Development Centre. The event gathered more than 25 professionals from 12 humanitarian organizations representing 13 countries for a three-day program focused on strengthening expertise throughout the importation process.

The masterclass aimed to promote peer learning and practical skills in areas such as compliance with customs requirements, addressing operational challenges, and understanding legal responsibilities of shippers and consignees. Participants engaged in case studies, scenario analyses, and observed customs procedures during a field visit to Dubai Customs.

Through the Knowledge and Development Center, Dubai Humanitarian is not only the world’s largest humanitarian hub, but also a global leader in capacity-building and learning and creating alliances among crucial actors such as National Customs, which can impact the humanitarian action.”

In this advanced masterclass we equip humanitarian professionals with the tools insights and partnerships required to navigate today’s challenges with greater agility and impact.”

A key focus was on innovative digital solutions that support efficient importation for humanitarian aid. Tools like the Humanitarian Logistics Databank and ASYREC were highlighted for their role in improving transparency coordination and response times during global operations.

The event reflects Dubai Humanitarian’s ongoing commitment to empower sector professionals increase operational efficiency and strengthen global responses to crises.
