Dubai Humanitarian announced on March 27 that it has dispatched a land convoy carrying critical medical supplies from the World Health Organization to Lebanon. The shipment aims to support communities displaced by the ongoing conflict in the country.
The delivery of essential medicines and healthcare items comes as part of efforts to address urgent humanitarian needs among displaced populations in Lebanon. The convoy, consisting of four trucks and totaling 21.5 metric tonnes, left Dubai on March 20 and is expected to arrive within a few days.
Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, said: “Guided by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Humanitarian continues to enable the delivery of critical assistance to communities affected by crises. This operation reflects the collective strength of our ecosystem, where members and partners continuously adapt to evolving challenges to ensure the uninterrupted flow of essential aid. As the world’s largest and pioneering humanitarian hub, we remain ready to scale our support, working in close coordination with stakeholders across Dubai, the UAE and beyond to facilitate efficient, reliable, and responsive humanitarian action.”
The operation’s transportation costs were covered by the Global Humanitarian Impact Fund. According to Dubai Humanitarian’s statement, this initiative demonstrates its role as a global enabler for emergency preparedness through strategic partnerships and regional connectivity.
Looking ahead, Dubai Humanitarian said it will continue supporting international relief efforts for those affected by crises worldwide.
