Dubai Industrial City joined citizens from around the United Arab Emirates in raising the UAE flag on Tuesday in honor the country’s national Flag Day.

Dubai Industrial City was founded in 2004 to help grow the UAE’s economy and to expand the nation’s industrial sector. It has developed into a regional manufacturing and logistics hub. That important place in Emirati culture gave the Flag Day ceremony a special meaning in Dubai Industrial City.

Flag Day celebrates the anniversary of the day President Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s took office as the leader of the country in 2004.

The UAE’s Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum asked all government entities to raise the UAE flag at exactly the same time at noon.

Answering that call, Dubai Industrial City Executive Director for Partner Relations Saud Abu Alshawareb joined senior staff and employees to hoist the national UAE colors in the industrial zone headquarters’ courtyard.

“Today we join all the citizens and residents of the UAE in celebrating the country’s Flag Day,” Abdulla Belhoul, Dubai Industrial City CEO, said. “This day offers an opportunity to all of us to be inspired by the efforts and vision of our founding fathers…. On this occasion, we renew our commitment towards our country to continuously work to achieve excellence and keep the nation’s flag flying high.”
